The Streets and Facilities Specialist is a shared position between the Streets and Facilities Departments. This position operates equipment and performs landscape maintenance. Work is performed under the supervision of the Streets Supervisor, Department Manager or Facilities Supervisor.

Essential Functions

  • Operates various types of heavy-duty equipment, such as front-end loaders, excavators, sweepers, sanders, trucks, trailers etc. for the repair and maintenance of city roadways;
  • Mows, trims and performs other landscape maintenance in a safe and efficient manner;
  • Operates shop equipment, such as drills, air compressors, circular saws;
  • Performs preventative maintenance by greasing, oiling, and performing other duties on vehicles and equipment and reports problems to the Supervisor;
  • Assists with Housing and City Hall maintenance;
  • Performs after hours “on call” duties for sander operations or other emergencies;
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.

Licenses and Other Requirements

  • Idaho Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License;
  • Applicants must be able to pass a background check and drug testing.
